GROWING2GETHER

Growing2gether gives young people facing disadvantage a chance to realise their potential and contribute to their communities. Since 2017, we have transformed the lives of 1750 young people across Highland, Scotland.

Growing2gether Nursery Mentoring and Growing2gether Community are innovative programmes, which connect young people to their communities: as mentors to children in need of extra support, and by creating youth-led projects in the community.

Growing2gether uses positive psychology to coach young people to build mental health, develop life skills and make positive choices. Participants achieve an SCVQ Personal Development Award (Self Awareness/Self in Community), building pride and encouraging the young people to re-engage in school.

Quote GROWING2GETHER:

“Growing2gether is the only programme in Scotland to use the power of nursery mentoring combined with intensive coaching in a supportive group to transform young lives. CABWI funding will provide opportunities for more young people struggling with low self-confidence and under-achievement across Scotland to develop key skills for learning, life and work and to aspire for more.”

Quote from a beneficiary:

“Helping children in nursery helped me to find skills and qualities I never really knew I had. I am so happy I got this opportunity because I would never have got the chance to improve myself to become who I am now. I have enjoyed this group and I have become more mature and confident, especially speaking.”
